Let us introduce the dedicated Diana

Meet Diana Jackline, an amazing and very driven young woman from Mutomo who studies a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science with IT at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology. Diana has always been a hard working student and started dreaming about studying actuarial science when she was only 13 and first became interested in mathematics. Diana wants to challenge the male-dominated business world of mathematics and IT. On the question of why she thinks the majority of her classmates are men, she confidently answers:

“Unfortunately there are too many ladies who say mathematics is too hard for them – it is not! This mindset needs to change. Everybody can do anything they want to! What men can do, women can always do as well, or better.”

Diana is a hopeful soul, in times of despair she goes back to her personal motto: “One day, One time…” that helps her stay focused and always keep going forward. In ten years from now, she pictures herself working in a non-governmental institution – leading and lifting her community!

Women for Education is honored to support Diana and looks forward to following her journey! Good luck Diana!
