Women for Education (“WFE”) works to ensure that your privacy is protected when visiting and/or using the services provided on our website. We therefore created this Privacy Policy demonstrating how we will collect and process your personal data. We reserve the right to update or change this Privacy Policy at any time by updating our website.

This Privacy Policy only concerns WFE users of our website and services. If you are receiving loans from WFE through the Women for Education Program this Privacy Policy is not applicable. The Privacy Policy for participants in the program is further described in the loan agreements.

What information (personal data) do we collect?

Information that directly or indirectly can be referable to an individual constitutes personal data. According to EU law, personal data can only be collected legally under strict conditions and for a legitimate purpose.

WFE collect personal data that you submit to us, for example, when you contact us, apply for loans, apply for a job, become a member of the association, donate money, or support WFE as a mentor through the mentorship program. The personal data that you submit to us may include; phone number, bank information, e-mail address and application related information.

Who is responsible for your personal data?

WFE is the controller of the personal data you choose to submit to us and responsible for your personal data under the Swedish Data Protection Act (1998:204), which implements the EU Data Protection Directive (95/46/EC).

How do we use your personal data?

Personal data collected on our website may be used for the following purposes:

  • send information about WFE such as newsletters;
  • answer your queries and to inform you of new or changed services;
  • validate that you are of legal age for applying for a student loan;
  • contact you in the event of any problems with your loan, donation and/or application;
  • test and improve our systems, website and student service;
  • to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

WFE will keep your data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes and/or services or for as long as we are required by law. After this your personal data will be deleted.

What are your rights?

You have the right to request information about the personal data we hold on you at any time. If your data is incorrect, incomplete or irrelevant, you may ask to have the information corrected or removed. We cannot remove your data when there is a legal storage requirement, such as book-keeping rules or when there are other legitimate grounds to keep the data, such as unsettled debts. Who has access to your personal data?

WFE will not transfer or share your data for marketing purposes to third parties outside the organization. Data that is forwarded to third parties is only used to provide you with the services mentioned. WFE reserves the right to transfer your personal data to its affiliates (trusted third parties who assist us to provide our services); such transfer will be conducted in compliance with applicable laws. By using WFE website or service you consent to the transfer of personal data outside of EES.

WFE will take reasonable organizational and technical measures to secure your personal data and to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal data.
